There are many facets of your internet business that you must get spot on. However, very few of them are up there with the importance of knowing exactly how, where and when to advertise. Because, when you perfect your product or service…it’s only then that the real challenge of reaching targeted clients for the lowest possible outlay begins. And, unless you’re privy to the information you’re about to receive, you could end up wasting an excruciating amount of time and money on “pie in the sky” advertising opportunities, schemes and so on.
1. If You’re Not On Top Of Your Advertising…It Will HURT You In The Long Run
Advertising is different for different organisations. For example, Coca Cola will have a very different approach to advertising their business and their fizzy drink than you or I would in advertising our small business. That’s because Coca Cola have a far bigger budget and take a “mass branding” approach to spending their ad budgets. They can hire celebrities to pose for them. You may even see an ad for coke in the super-bowl…it’s unlikely that you’ll see one for “The Effective Advertiser” dime-sale.
What we’ll focus on today, is advertising for the smaller business. For the solo or small internet business entrepreneur/company. On how to maximise ROI on an ad budget that could be perhaps only two or three digits a month. If this is you…read on!
One of the most common questions you’ll ever see in internet marketing forums is something along the lines of “HELP! I only have $200, how do I best advertise my internet business??” – then of course, you’ll see about 100 guru’s shamelessly all pushing their ad courses, schemes and seminars. Now, if you really do have a strictly limited ad budget…then pay attention to this next sentence:
“You Need To Advertise EFFECTIVELY And CONSISTENTLY To
Maximise Your Returns From Your Business…”
That means, if you’re serious about developing a successful and flourishing business…you need to set aside a certain amount of money for your ad campaigns. Yes, there ARE some costless and effective ways to advertise your business that you must take advantage of…but make no mistake, paid advertising is a powerful way to maximise your exposure in the least amount of time, and with minimal effort. When you think about it, it makes sense.
But, in your advertising efforts you must also keep in mind the following:
a) You need to first identify an advertising system that works for you. There are MANY ineffective paid advertising methods out there too which you need to steer clear from.
b) You need to maximise your ad investment by making sure you (a) attract only serious clients and (b) have a way of introducing them into your business system. And, you must be able to monitor your results so you know what’s working and what isn’t (we touched on that in the last newsletter – if you missed it, please see the blog).
c) Your approach MUST be long term. That ties in with why you must create an ad budget that is on-going. By having a long term approach, you ensure that your advertising pays off in the long term.
2. Touching On A Few Ad Methods That Work…
Now, this is a huge ask – trying to summarise advertising mediums that work, are cost effective and should deliver long term subscribers and clients. But let’s have a brief go anyway…
(a) Pay Per Click – Not just Adwords, but the PPC ad model works because it delivers targeted clients searching for exactly what you’re selling. The “Effective Advertiser” resource that you can pick up today goes into some detail on why and how PPC can work for your business.
(b) Social Network Sites – A very powerful mode of zero cost advertising. The trick here is to identify the high traffic sites, and to reach them all quickly. Without wanting to push, there’s a huge segment on this inside the Effective Advertiser. Oh, and www.digitalresalerightspro.com members, you should know that there’s a new video inside the members area that shows you how to submit all your sites to 150 of the most high traffic social network sites in under 2 minutes (and yes, it doesn’t cost a thing).
(c) Forums – there are a whirlwind of clients waiting inside forums for you. But, there’s an easier way of “advertising” in forums than you may be aware of.
Those are 3 simple ways. If you want to know about practically every method (online and offline) that I’ve used to advertise my business effectively, then consider getting the Effective Advertiser (Or get it free by being a DRR Premium Member)
